Religion Series: Part 1

Religion is an essential part of every state. In fact, no state has been established, that had any hope of lasting, without the help of religion in some form to assist in its creation. If used properly, religion develops deep-rooted support for the laws, enhances love for the state by teaching duty, honor, and service (to the state. Some states even go as far as making theocracy. This can also be highly effective. I will digress from this form as my current focus is the United States of America, which established a clear separation of the establishment of a single religion from the state. Religion can be detrimental to. If it wastes too much time with meaningless ceremonies, if it becomes tyrannical and intolerant in causes infighting and division, or if it no longer provides support for the laws of the state. A religion that is so intolerant that it calls for the execution of those who do not believe in its particular god(s) creates a natural state of war, which is never the goal.

President Trump, as a head of the United States, is doing well to promote the acceptance of all religions. It is known that Donald Trump has a lot of support from the Evangelical right, and sometimes problematic radical, anti-Semitic white supremacists. So Donald Trump is doing well to promote the acceptance and tolerance of all religions, in this case, particularly Judaism. He proclaims himself to be Christian and has often tweeted about his support for Christianity so this tweet to support the holiday of Passover is of particular importance. He's supporting a state that is tolerant of all religion. Even though it is true that Judaism is not the most ideal religion (given that it doesn't believe in an afterlife) by and large it has been a productive member in the United States in supporting the laws and ultimately making the state stronger.

Trump isn't perfect, however. His problematic treatment of the Islamic religion often sows discord and obviously disrespects religion Islam without due cause. If Trump wishes to seek further success he should continue with this tweet’s intent and support the open tolerance and acceptance of all religions, so long as they promote support for the sovereign.
